Code of Conducts

NYSAHA has formally adopted a Parent Code of Conduct, which applies to ALL associations. Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, all players must have a signed Parent Code of Conduct on file with their organization in order to participate.

Under NYSAHA policy, if a spectator is ejected from a game due to conduct, a fine will be assessed to the affiliated association.

MMHA and NYSAHA remind families that emotions can run high during games. However, concerns regarding officiating or on-ice issues must follow the appropriate escalation path:

Coach → Organization Board → NYSAHA North Section

If a coach and organization board believe an egregious error occurred, the North Section Referee-in-Chief (RIC) and the Disciplinary Committee will review and investigate the matter as appropriate.

In addition to the NYSAHA Code of Conduct described above, MMHA will also be requiring all players to have a signed USA Hockey Parent & Spectator Code of Conduct on file to be eligible for participation.

We are all responsible for setting a positive example for our young athletes. Board members, coaches, parents, and spectators are expected to demonstrate respectful and appropriate behavior at all times.

At the end of the day, youth hockey is about more than the game—it’s about helping raise good humans. Let’s work together to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for everyone involved.
